A Warm Welcome To VHAH FEST 2025

Dr. Shruti Nada Poddar
On behalf of Trustees, MC and Advisors of Shruti Foundation

Greetings and welcome from Shruti Foundation to the Vedaaranya Heritage and Healing Festival or VHAH FEST 2025 at Ramgarh Shekhawati, Rajasthan!

The festival is an integral part of the dream to revive this unique region of India which had been abandoned by some of the richest Seths (merchants) of India almost a century ago, throwing its economic and social order into chaos and disintegration. Today history beckons again as we rediscover the enchantment of the painted walls of Ramgarh Shekhawati and the great culture and heritage of this unique town that was once a great Centre of learning, and was thus called Doosra Kashi.

Actor, Director and Author Deepti Naval, shared her feelings on the amazing VHAH FEST 2023 - Her book reading and conversation on her new and mesmerising book "A Country called Childhood") was held at VHAH FEST (Vedaaranya Heritage and Healing Festival) from Feb 3-6, 2023 at Ramgarh Shekhawati - Co-directed by Dr. Shruti Nada Poddar and Ms Mira Kaushik (OBE) and organised Shruti Foundation in collaboration with Rajasthan Tourism supported by Intach, Le Meridien Delhi, Ambuja Neotia Group, Prabha Khaitan Foundation, Sua Devi Poddar Foundation, Vivana, Raj Bhargava and others.

Raja Ravi Varma (April 29, 1848 - October 2, 1906) is one of the greatest painters in the history of Indian art. A celebrated painter and artist from the princely state of Travancore (presently in Kerala), who became the most influential Indian painter and a public figure. In his lithographs, he depicted for the first time the Indian gods and goddesses, the figures of which continue even today to be objects of worship in the temples and houses of millions of Hindu devotees in India and abroad.

Mahadev Visvanath Dhurandhar, also called Rao Bahadur, a title bestowed on him by the British government, was the first Indian director of the Sir J. J. School of Art, Mumbai. He was most known for his realistic and academic style, and his depictions of women in their daily life.
